The islands are car free - so transport is either foot, bike or cidomo ( horse drawn carriage). Due to its close proximity to coral reefs the islands have become popular with divers. Gili Trawangan is the highest of the three islands rising to a staggering 60 metres. The island has the largest population and caters extensively to tourists.
Gili Air
Gili Air
Gili Air is closest to Lombok island and the second largest of the Gili Islands. Snorkelling and Diving is popular off the east coast, between the island and Lombok. Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno are only a short boat hop away.

The usual way to get to Gili Air is by boat from Gili Trawangan or from Bangsai on the island of Lombok. The boat trip is very short, taking 30 minutes. Speed boats make the trip from Bali but its wise to check whether the intended boat goes all the way to Gili Air as many terminate in Gili Trawangan.
