Donegal West Video Travel Guides

Ireland

Great Videos and Photos of the Best Places and Things to see in Donegal West Ireland. For the independent traveller who is interested in seeing places while planning their next trip. Or for anyone who likes to be close to nature and see the quieter parts of the country or city

The West of Donegal, overlooking Donegal Bay and north to Gweedore has some spectacular scenery and is a great place to tour slowly whether by car or bicycle. Enjoy the leisurely aspects of some of the small villages or the massive cliffs of Sleive League. Further north, the scenery becomes more rugged, with small rivers, lakes and beautiful beaches dotting the coastline. As you head further north you may be surprised to see how heavily populated the area is, with so many white walled homes.

Killybegs is the largest fishing port in Ireland. The port is the centre of the Irish pelagic fishing and processing industries, as it specialises in the processing and freezing of species such as mackerel, herring, scad, and blue whiting.

Its proximity to the Glencolmcille Penisula on the Wild Atlantic Way, helps to make the town a good location as a base for exploring the nearby scenic spots.
