Puglia or Apulia is in Southern Italy bordering the Adriatic Sea to the east, the Ionian Sea to the southeast, and the Strait of Òtranto and Gulf of Taranto to the south. The Central Region has a vibrant tourist industry based on the famous Trulli style houses and intimate whitewashed old towns along the coast. Cuisine plays an important role throughout Apulia.
